Our Symbol
Our Golden Triangle symbol represents the premier agave-growing region nestled in the Highlands — Los Altos — of Jalisco, Mexico. This elevated terrain, with its rich red clay soils and ideal climate, produces some of the finest blue agave in the world.
Each side of the triangle carries deep meaning: Land, Man, & Spirit
The Land: The first step is the rich, red soil of Los Altos de Jalisco. Here, the agave plant slowly climbs to maturity over years, building a deep, complex sweetness in its heart.
The Man: The next step is the wisdom of the jimador & maestro, a craft passed from one generation to the next. With ritual respect, they help the agave ascend from the earth to begin its transformation.
The Spirit: The final steps form a precise staircase in the distillery. From the oven to the tahona, the fermentation tank, and finally to the highest step—the copper still—the agave is elevated into a sublime spirit.

Our Vessel
Sculpted with the commanding presence of a trophy, the Escalón bottle makes a statement before the first pour.
Its ascending silhouette rises from a broad, grounded base — an architectural expression of the name Escalón: a step upward. Defined facets create a sense of precision and strength, while elongated lines naturally draw the eye upward.
At its center, the Golden Triangle emerges in gold-embossed agave — a signature of authenticity, a tribute to heritage, and a symbol of Land, Man, and Spirit.
At the crown, a robust geometric cap and signature golden lock neck ring complete the design. Before the bottle can be opened, the ring must first be released — transforming the first pour into a deliberate ritual and bringing our philosophy to life: The Ascent of Agave, Unlocked.

Our Birthplace
The search for Escalón’s home led us to more than 30 distilleries across Mexico. At its heart was a desire to find people who shared our values and our reverence for the craft—and a place where our vision could take root.
We found it in Arandas, at Vivanco Distillery, NOM 1414.
Here, a partnership with Sergio Vivanco and Maestro Tequilero Sergio Cruz brought a vision years in the making to life. We were united by a commitment to traditional tequila—crafted without additives, never rushed, and never compromised.
One conviction defined Escalón from the beginning: the beauty of the bottle must reflect the excellence of the spirit within. Traditional craftsmanship and modern elegance, held to the same exacting standard.

Born at NOM 1414 Vivanco Distillery, nestled in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, every expression is brought to life by Master Distiller Sergio Cruz — a craftsman who believes that exceptional tequila begins long before the bottle is sealed. Made with just three ingredients — agave, water, and yeast — nothing more, nothing less.
Every bottle honors time-honored methods: slow-roasting agave hearts in brick ovens, crushing with a tahona stone, open fermentation in wood tanks, and distilling in copper pots. The result is a spirit of rare elegance — complex, balanced, and deeply rooted in the land that gave it life.

Our founders background in hospitality and marketing taught him one essential truth — a great product means nothing if it doesn’t connect with the people it was made for.
So before Escalón ever reached a single shelf, he took it to the people.
He assembled a diverse focus group of tequila aficionados, seasoned bartenders, and everyday tequila drinkers — the full spectrum of those who would ultimately hold a bottle of Escalón in their hands. Their feedback was honest, unfiltered, and invaluable.
The result is our tequila that lives in a rare space — sophisticated enough to command the respect of the most discerning palates, and welcoming enough to anyone with an appreciation for something genuine.
